If you wish to visit Mount Fuji, consider visiting Fuji Five Lakes or Hakone both are very scenic areas and offer amazing views of Fuji (weather permitting of course).

Since you only stay in Japan for such a short time, I think it would be best to buy tickets as you travel and buy something like the Narita Express and Suica package. Which provides you with a discounted return ticket on the Narita Express and a prepaid travel card (Suica) which you can use for convenient local travel.

As for access to the Tokyo Opera City Hall, taking a taxi from Shinjuku station is probably the most convenient way. It is not very far and the fare should not be much higher than the initial start amount. It is also possible to use a non-JR (Keio New Line) line to Hatsudai station but this may be confusing to find as Shinjuku is very busy.

When you return to Narita Airport, I'd recommend taking a taxi back to Shinjuku and the Narita Express from there. As you say, time will be on the short side to get to Narita Airport, so plan carefully.

I booked in at the spa hotel at Fuji. Do not know if you know it. What is best way to get to Fuji? Must look at posts

I looked on Hyperdia for Tokyo Opera City. Yes I have done Hatsuidi last year but missed the NEX from Shinjuku by skin of my teeth and had to go to Tokyo to pick up. I see there is a Narita Express from Shibuya which gets to Narita Airport at 7. 20. Is that right? Does the train go Shibuya first and then Shinjuku and which is nearer to Tokyo Opera City.

When I come to Japan again wonder which places you would recommend in the North?

The best way to go to Fuji kinda depend on where you are staying. I could not find your hotel so please give me some more information and I'll look up the best route!

How far in the North are we talking? I always thought Sendai and surrounding area is pretty interesting, Yamadera and Matsushima are both very beautiful.

How do I get into my posts which tells me there are 13 when I log into JR pass. I seem to have to go through emails to get to you?
My hotel in Fuji is Sakura-an Treatment & Spa Hotel(桜庵トリートメント＆スパホテル) so would be interested on best advice for route. As I am not buying the pass as they do not do a 3 day one but Def thought there was one and if not PLEASE SUGGEST IT or would it not pay for itself???? Are you still able to give advice even if not getting pass?If you are not I totally understand.
So think you are saying it is no good getting any pass?
The cheap Nex at 1500 or there abouts do I get at the JR station as usual? Great price.

From Tokyo Opera City to Narita thinking of taxi to Shibuya and picking up the Limited NEX which leaves at 17 45 or I can go from Shinjuku ( taxi?) to Nippori on Yam. line and pick up the KN skyliner A which gets at around 19. 28. Can I buy this ticket in advance as will not have time to mess about.
The JR East ticket would that be an advantage. Need to look into it.

I looked up your hotel, the closest station seems to be Kawaguchiko. The best way to travel there is to take a train from Tokyo - Otsuki station and transfer there to the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko. From there you can use a local bus or perhaps taxi for travel to your hotel, it's about 1.5km away. You may be interested in the JR Kanto Pass for this area, as it covers travel to Narita Airport and also to your hotel.

I suggested Sendai, Yamadera and Matsusushima as interesting places if you want to explore a little north of Tokyo. However you would some time to visit, so maybe next time is better.

You can either get on the Narita Express from Shibuya or Shinjuku but please be aware that these are not the same trains and depart at different times.
