Hello,
Looking for suggestion. Landing in Osaka 3/28 and leaving 4/06 Narita. JR Pass? Osaka base for travels to Kyoto. Then leave on 04/01 for Tokyo. I need help with the transportation. There are over night buses from Osaka to Tokyo.

Hi there!
I think that it would be better to buy normal tickets as you travel. A JR Pass would not be cost efficient if you only travel one way between Osaka - Tokyo. You could consider a night bus, which is generally cheaper then normal train tickets but it is something I would personally try to avoid, simply because it may be hard to sleep on the bus.
Hope this helps!

Hi Daniel-san,
Another question. We want to go back to Kyoto from Tokyo. Do you recommend a JR pass?
Hi Rae:
I want to do the same and having problems getting information on how to do it ,..... Arriving on a Princess cruise ship Arp. 29 ...will stay in Osaka until evening of 30 of April--then on to Tokyo --then on to Narita for a 5 pm flight back to San Francisco (Hope to see Kyoto and Nara on 29/30 Apr. and Mt. Fuji (1may) and a little of Tokyo in the morning of 2 May before going to airport
Hi Frank,
Maybe we research and help each other out.
I will be in Osaka 03/28 to 040/1 then head to Tokyo and flight out 4/06 Narita.
Hi Rae,
To follow up your question, yes I would recommend a JR Pass if you make a return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka. This price of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same as a normal return ticket but now you you get a full week of unlimited travel for the same price!
