If itinerary is as follows:
Arriving Haneda - stay near Asakusa 3 days
Kyoto (shinkansen) - 3 days
Shinjuku area - 3 days
Day 10 -depart to Haneda

What is best way to travel for first 3 days if get a 7-day JR pass starting with traveling to Kyoto day 4, would we buy tickets daily as needed to travel from Haneda to Asakusa and then around Tokyo the first 3 days, or is there a 3-day pass that's more cost-effective for first 3 days? Also, does the JR pass cover train ride from Kyoto to Nara?
Thank you for advice.

Hi there,

The JR Pass will cover all of your itinerary, including the trip from Kyoto and Nara. There unfortunately isn’t a pass that you would benefit from for the first three days of your trip, and in general it is likely to be more cost-effective to purchase your tickets individually than to purchase a JR Pass. If you are still interested, however, it is certainly an option considering it covers your itinerary as well as basic metro travel in Tokyo via the JR Yamanote Line (which passes through Shinjuku).

Hope this helps!
