Hello, we're not quite clear on what the JR Pass covers and what it doesn't. We'll be in Japan for 15 days. We plan on spending 8/9 days in Tokyo (still up for debate), and the rest in/around Kyoto/Osaka/Hiroshima/Nara, where we'll most likely base ourselves in Kyoto, and take day trips to Osaka/Hiroshima/Nara.
Does the JR Pass cover trains/subways in Tokyo and the other cities mentioned above? Is there a different carrier in Tokyo that we should be getting our tickets from? Is there some type of ticket/pass you can buy in Tokyo where you can just hop on/off trains/subways without constantly having to buy tickets from point A to point B?
Thanks in advance
