Two weeks in Japan, few destinations. Should we get a JR pass?

Hello,

My wife and I will be coming to Japan at the end of march and staying for just under two weeks. Our current plan is 3 days in Tokyo, 1 day in a Ryokan near Fujiyoshida, 4 days in Kyoto with one day trip to Osaka somewhere in there, and then the last 4 days again in Tokyo. After doing some calculations, it seems like the JR pass might not be the best option for us, but I wanted to see what others think. This is our first time in Japan and are very excited.

Hi there,

If you're sticking to a small number of destinations, a JR Pass may not necessarily suit you. However, if you plan to incorporate other day trips and visits to escape the bustling nature of the city, the JR Pass helps you by giving you unrestricted access on almost all JR-Operated trains.

Hope this helps!
