Hi Daniel
my wife and i are doing11 days trip late August and wanted to know weather JR rail pass was the way to go.We would be travelling Green Car and i would need a 14 day pass i think/, Your thoughts

Day 3 Tokyo
Day4 Tokyo >> Kanazawa >> Tokyo
Day 5 Tokyo >> Osaka

Hi Mark Taylor,

Yes, a 14 day Japan Rail Pass makes a lot of sense here. Basically all your trips are by Shinkansen and here is where the best savings with a pass can be had. Since you spend so many days on the train, Green Class will help you relax too.

If you want to save a bit on travel time, consider staying the night in Kanazawa and then going to Osaka from there the following morning, instead of backtracking through Tokyo.
