would it make sense to book a 7 day pass for a family of 8 (6 adults + 1 6 yr old + 1 3 yr old)? we would land in tokyo 3/21 and fly out 3/29.

itinerary is from tokyo --->>osaka-->>kyoto-->>osaka-->>back to tokyo

not sure if we are able to book tickets the day of for the bullet train?
would it make sense to buy the bullet train the day of and then pay train fares throughout the city using the suica card?

Hi there,

I would recommend purchasing a Hokuriku Arch Pass. It covers travel from Tokyo to Osaka and Kyoto but comes at a cheaper price than the regular JR Pass. The 3 year-old will not require a pass and the pass for the 6 year-old will be discounted at half price.

For more info on the pass, click here.

Hope this helps!

So this Hokuriku Arch will take us from Tokyo to Osaka in one shot and should take about 3 hours? The map is confusing me 😅 we’re also landing in Narita … we can hop on it from that airport?
