I read holders of such pass get to ride the 13 Joyful Trains for free. Some of them serve meals and drinks. Do I need to pay extra for the meals on board?
If I have a JR rail pass, will I still be able to ride the train or is it only valid for JR East pass holders? If so do I pay an extra fee?

Hi there,
The JR Pass covers the same Joyful trains as the JR East passes. On board, snacks and drinks are usually paid - for any ticket holder, though this depends on the train.
