Hello,

My wife and I will be traveling 1st time in Japan for 34 days from April 7-May 11, 2025.

1) Tokyo ( JR East) - Apr 7-14
2) Aichi (JR Central) Apr 14-21
3) Kyoto (JR West) Apr 21-28
4) Hiroshima (JR West) Apr 28-May 1
5) Kumamoto ( JR Kyushu) May 1-5
6) Shiogama ( JR East) May 5-9
7) Near Haneda Airport, Tokyo ( JR East) May 9-11

We prefer “Green” coaches. What will be our strategy for regional passes along with travel pass from one region to another region.

Thank you.

Hi there,

If you plan on spending most of your time in the areas designated, I’d recommend purchasing your tickets individually which can easily be done online. My recommendation would be to use the Japan Travel website which can be used to find routes between two locations and also book Shinkansen/Express train tickets online.

Hope this helps!

Hello Alexis,

I understand that I need to buy individual ticket when I go from one region to another region but don’t I need to buy regional passes so that I can travel within the region unlimited for sightseeing.? Individual tickets within the region will be expensive, I guess. How many days regional passes are available for 3 days, 5 days, 7 days?

Thank you.
Chotu
