Collecting vs activating my JR Pass

Hi Daniel-san,

I am landing in Osaka on Saturday the 19th where I spending the weekend before departing to Kyoto on Tuesday, and then to Toyko on Wednesday. We fly home on Monday the 28th from Toyko.

It is possible to collect my 7 day JP Pass from the airport when I land on Saturday but not activate it until I travel on Tuesday?

For ease of logistics I was hoping to collect my pocket wifi and pass as the same time when I land, however to get the most value from the pass it would be better to start the 7 day period from Tuesday.

Hi Frances,

You can activate the JR Pass at arrival and select a later date to start using the JR Pass. You do need to bring the JR Pass exchange voucher.
