It says we need to sho proof we have lived outside of Japan for 10 years. So this is more than just my passport? My trip is coming up in November so i'm running out of time. I just afraid to buy it and then get there and not be able to actually get the pass.

Hi there,
The proof of residence only applies to Japanese Nationals living abroad. In case you are a foreign national (non-Japanese), then this does not apply.
We have all the details here:

Kind regards,
Daniel
