If you want to, there's the option of returning to Nagoya via Nagano and stop by an area around there. If you're looking for historical architecture and culture, Matsumoto is always an option. If you want something more nature-based, alighting at Kiso puts you at the foot of the Kiso mountains and Mount Utsugi.

Alternatively, if you take the shorter route, alighting at Nagahama puts you at the doorstep of the beautiful Lake Biwa.
