Kyoto to Hiroshima and Hiroshima to Odawara (for Hakone/Fuji)

My wife and I will be staying in Kyoto from 12th October. We want to travel from Kyoto station to Okayama and (later) onto Hiroshima. I'm looking at the Kansei to Hiroshima regional pass but want to use the Tokaido Shinkansen from Kyoto to Okayama (on 16th October). Is that train covered by the pass or do I buy an additional ticket locally?

Also, later when we travel Hiroshima to Odawara, can we use the pass as far as Osaka and stay on the same train to Shin Yokoshama (for change to Odawara) if we pay for an additional ticket?
