What is the best and cheapest way from osaka to Tokyo?Bus or Shinkansen?
my in-laws visiting us for 10 days March 26 to April 4.
and for them to go around sigthseeing. Is the JR pass good?

Hi there,
The cheapest way to get from Osaka to Tokyo is by Night Bus, sometimes specials run and you can have a fare as low as 3,500Yen/One way (you will have to book in advance). The downside is that they are not very comfortable and if you can't sleep you may lose the next day due to fatigue.
If you under a tourist visa the JR-Pass is probably the best option as it is roughly the same cost as the return Osaka - Tokyo so any additional travel you may do becomes free! Alternatively if you are not eligible for a JR-Pass a Seishun ticket may prove useful as well.
