Please help I am travelling with my 12 year old son in Jan 2020 and planning on purchasing a 7 day JR pass, we want to see Mt Fuji and explore Kyoto and do a couple of days of skiing before heading back to Tokyo. Where would be the best and most convenient place for skiing (beginners) on this route using JR pass.

Hi there,
A great place to start Skiing with easy Shinkansen access from Tokyo is Gala Yuzawa you can reach it within 2 hours from Tokyo and travel is fully covered by the JR Pass. Rental gear is available too.
Kind regards,
Daniel
