Hello,
I will arrive in Tokyo on August 14th around noon and I'm planning to take a train to Kyoto on the same day. Since this is during Obon festival, I wonder if it will be difficult to find seats on a bullet train (one for which the JR Pass is valid) ?

Hi there,
Yes it may be harder than usual and there's a possibility that you may not be able to travel on the train that you would wish to travel on but have to take a train or two later. Will you be travelling alone? In that case I don't think that you'll have to worry much because there's always an empty seat somewhere.
