Hi there,

We will be visiting Tokyo from 30th March to 5th April. We have not planned our itinerary yet, and still debating whether to visit Kyoto or not. Is it worth getting the JR Pass if we are only using it for a roundtrip to Kyoto, Haneda and around Tokyo?

If we are to only spend time in Tokyo and maybe some neighbor towns, which pass will be most suitable?

Thank you!!

Hello there,

A 7 day JR Pass works great, even if you just visit Tokyo and Kyoto. As it also covers local travel in Tokyo and to/from the Airport.

Travel within Tokyo is not very expensive and generally I'd advise just buying normal tickets if you plan to stay locally. An IC card like Suica can be a great help too.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
