Hello I'm travelling to Japan at the end of December. I have the following travel by rail planned, and I'm wondering if I should buy a JRPass or if it would be more economical and if it is possible to buy individual tickets.

Are these all the trips you've planned? If so, then buying normal tickets would be cheaper.
You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
