If I needed to get from Akihabara to Narita airport in time to reach a plane leaving at 06:30 (meaning I'd likely need to be at Narita around 05:00 just to be safe), how would i go about doing this and which route would be most effective? I just came home to Osaka from Tokyo and would like to go there again if I could avoid the steep price I paid for taking a taxi to the airport.

Hi there,
Unfortunately there are no trains traveling to Narita Airport in the night. The earliest train arrives at 06:30. A better option would be to take a late train and spend the night at the airport, or take a hotel close to the Airport.
The only option, if you want to travel to Narita Airport by night would be by taxi however a general taxi right from Tokyo - Narita Airport is 25,000yen (almost the price of a JR Pass).
