Hi,

we are just planing our holiday for Septembre this year. We are planing to fly to Haneda and we plan to travel to Kyoto directly on the same day. We will be arriving in Haneda at about 2pm.

Is is possible to travel from Haneda to Shinagawa (which train?) and than take the Shinkansen from Shinagawa to Kyoto? Or is there a better and faster way from Haneda to Kyoto?

Is the train from Haneda to Shinagawa covered by the JRP?

Many thx
Ben

Hello Ben,

Yes this route is completely covered by the JR Pass.

You can take the Hikari Super Express service from Shinagawa station directly to Kyoto station.

To get to Shinagawa station, take the Tokyo Monorail from Haneda to Hamamatsucho, from there the Yamanote line to Shinagawa or alternatively Tokyo station. You can board the Shinkansen either from Shinagawa or Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
