Hi,

I am currently making my way across Japan from Tokyo to HIroshima via Kyoto. We had planned to go bk to Mount Fuji staying one night in Nara but after seeing that it is going to take us 6hrs to get to Mount Fuji from Nara and we only had planned one night in Mount Fuji we are thinking about staying somewhere else along the way which maybe is an easy quicker Jr route. Is it worth staying two nights near Kawaguchiko or would you suggest another place?

Thanks

Hi there,

Kawaguchiko is pretty nice, especially if you make visits to the other surrounding lakes. So you could certainly spend two nights there. An alternative would be to stay in Hakone. This is also a very nice area to visit with a great view of Fuji.
Hakone is also very nice when it comes to routing as it is directly on the Shinkansen between Kyoto - Tokyo, making for very easy access.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
