Hi this may seem like a strange question but... how will I know which seats are reserved ones and which are not? I would hate to make the mistake of sitting in a reserved seat If haven't got a reservation.
Thanks

Hi there!

Good question! There are reserved seat only carriages, and non-reserved carriages. This information marked in english next to the door as you board the train, and on the platform as you wait for your train so it should be pretty clear which carriage is non-reserved. If in doubt though, ask a member of JR platform staff who will be happy to help.

If you reserve a seat, you will be issued with a ticket which shows your carriage and seat number on it. Follow the signs on the platform and on the train to find the right car, and then hunt down your seat by looking at the seat numbers displayed above the seat on the luggage racks.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, good news that it is marked in English :O) I was worried that I would not be able to understand.
