JR pass-any savings- Q to ask Daniel-san

Hi,

Seeking your help as I plan for Osaka-Kyoto trip.
Planning to go to Shirakawago for 1 night, start journey from Osaka to Kanazawa by Ltd Exp thunderbird then bus. Return from Kanazawa to Kyoto.
Stay Kyoto 3 days then Osaka 3 days.
Is there any JR pass to recommend that could help us save some $ and hassle of buying single trip tickets ?Or Kansai pass ?
Use the Hyperdia to calculate my fares and seems like a lot of money would be spent on detour to Shirakawago, therefore I am seeking help to ask about JR pass.
Thank you for all your advice and input.

Hi there,

I've gotten a couple more questions about this lately and some other forums users where talking about the JR Hokuriku Pass. It does not cover the entire way between Kyoto/Osaka and Kanazawa but you could possibly make some savings with it.

Otherwise I would just stick to buying normal tickets as there is no other regional pass which covers this route.
