I'm flying off to Japan on 7 Oct 2014. I'm wondering if I order now, could I receive the pass on 6 Oct? However, 6 Oct is a Public Holiday in Malaysia. If cannot, is there any alternative way I could purchase the pass? I planning to get JR central pass.

The 6th of Oct is indeed very close and I am not sure if you could get the pass in time to you in Malaysia.
