Hi,
We have 6 days in Japan arriving and leaving from Kansai.
In our 6 days we're planning to visit Osaka, Mt Koya and Kyoto.
What would be the best tickets/pass to purchase?
And can we purchase these in Australia before we leave,
or should we purchase these when we arrive in Japan?

Hi there!
As you won't be leaving the Kansai area, I don't recommend the nationwide JR Pass for your trip. For your itinerary I think I recommend looking into the following passes which can be purchased on arrival at Kansai airport:
