I will be checking out of the hotel in Osaka before visiting Kyoto and checking into a ryokan in Kurama. I found that to travel from Osaka to Kurama, I must transfer at Kyoto. If there is a locker service at the Kyoto station, it will be convenient for me to check out from the Osaka hotel and take the luggage together to travel to Kyoto, put them in the locker and proceed to visit places of interest. Thereafter I can continue my journey to Kurama instead of going back to Osaka for the luggage and start the journey all over again.
Locker service in Kyoto and Nara
Hi there!
Is there is a locker service at the Kyoto station? it will be convenient for me to check out from the Osaka hotel and take the luggage together to travel to Kyoto, put them in the locker and proceed to visit places of interest. Thereafter I can continue my journey to Kurama instead of going back to Osaka for the luggage and start the journey all over again.
Yes, there are a large amount of luggage lockers available at Kyoto station. See this map for more detail, and our blog post on using luggage lockers.
Sometimes it can get a bit busy as Kyoto is a popular tourist destination. If you are unable to find an automatic locker, there is also a manned luggage store (left luggage office) on floor B1F (8am-8pm), where you can store large luggage, and also arrange for it to be forwarded to your hotel if you wish.
Hope this helps!
