Hi there,

What area around Fuji do you plan to stay in? I would imagine staying two days in Hakone, however other places mayd not offer enough to keep you interested.

Also keep in mind the Fuji is often hidden away in the clouds during winter and you may not be able to see it at all. A save approach would be to stay in Tokyo or not too far from Fuji and check the weather in the morning. You could then make a day trip.

Hope this helps!

Daniel,

Thanks for the fast reply! I plan on staying in Fujikawaguchiko. I booked a day in Hakone too as a back up but wasnt sure where to stay as Hakone didnt look like there was much to do.

I thought Fuji was clear during Dec. I guess I was wrong. Should I proceed with staying at Fujikawaguchiko or go to Hakone instead? Please advise thanks!

Hi again!

A day Kawaguchiko should be good, you can walk around the Fuji 5 Lakes and the surrounding nature if very pretty. Hakone also offers a lot of small things to do and see. This way there's always something you will find interesting.

You could stay a night at both places or head down to the Izu peninsula, thats also a very beautiful area.
