Hi

I want to go on a random trip Japan in November 2014 so I'm just wondering what at the places to go to... like what's not to miss in Japan. I would most likely spend 7 days in total and I'm totally open to suggestions on where to go. I would book accommodation in Tokyo and would want to stay in the same accommodation throughout the 7 days. The places I really wanted to go in Japan is the Tokyo tower, Shibuya crossing, Shinjuku, mount Fuji, Disneyland and DisneySea.

Can anyone please assist me on how I should schedule my trip? What other places should I not miss?

Regards
Zann

Hi Zann,

I'd be more than happy to give you some tips and recommendations. First though, could you tell me what kinds of things you like and are interested it? This will in turn help me find the best options.

For now I would recommend looking into a day trip to Nikko. It's a very nice place to visit with lots of culture, tradition and history behind it.

Hope to hear from you,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

Good to hear from you and thank you for your willingness to help me :)

The places I wanted to go within my 7 days in Japan are Disneyland, DisneySea, Tokyo tower, Shinjuku, Ginza, Shibuya and mount Fuji. Since all are mostly commercial and modern places (other than mount Fuji of course), I wonder if I can fit in some scenic places or traditional suburb structure of Japan in my itinerary. A day trip to Nikko sounds like a good idea! How far is it from Tokyo? How do I get there? I also heard so much about how pretty Kyoto and Osama is but I may not be able to fit into my 7 days short stay.

I really need your expertise in advising what could be the best itinerary for me. I've booked hotel in tokyo btw.

Regards
Zann

Hello Zam,

Sorry for the late follow up, it's been very busy here.

I think that you've already made a nice selection, especially when it comes to Tokyo. A guide to Nikko can be found here you can reach Nikko within 2H from Tokyo station.

Osaka and Kyoto are also very nice visits but would indeed be hard to fit into your itinerary. A great alternative could be a visit to Kamakura (within 1h) from Kyoto and you can visit the Big Buddha there, in addition to many beautiful temples. A day trip to Yokohama (30/60min from Tokyo) could also be very interesting. The China town there is the most famous in Asia and the Yokohama harbor and waterfront are great to walk around.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
