hi we have booked our trip to japan and now are refining our travels. Originally we were to travel from kanazawa to takayama (where we were going to stay 3 days) and then onto matsumoto.. however i have decided to go to Gero as well so i thought we could arrive in Takayama on a friday then take the train to gero on saturday and then back up to takayama for sunday and then leave for matsumoto on monday. is this too much back tracking?? am i better to go to takayama for friday and saturday leave sunday for gero and then onto matsumoto. Hyperdia is not helping it doesnt recognise gero as a destination and everything i type into google is all over the place... so i have signed up here instead for some answers ... my first post!! HELLO! thanks for any info X
takayama to gero to matsumoto
Hi there and Welcome to the Forums!
Travel between Takayama and Gero Onsen is just a 44 Minute ride. It would add some extra travel time if you go back to Takayama but I think that this should be okay. Of course if you want to keep travel to a minimum then going directly from Gero to Matsumoto is the best route.
I hope this answers your question,
Daniel
