Aloha - I did some research about wheelchair access at train stations. The only ones I couldn't find information on is Noboribetsu, Asashiyama and shiraoi. Does anyone know if its possible for someone with a wheel chair to utilize these stations? Thanks.
Traveling with a wheelchair
Hi there,
Sorry for the somewhat late answer, it took some time to research the questions.
First Noboribetsu, this station unfortunately does not have special facilities for wheel chairs, you can however ask the staff to help you reaching the right platform.
Arashiyama comes equipped with elevators and special wheel chair access.
Lastly Shiraoi also comes equipped with a special ramp for Wheelchairs to traverse the steps, of course you can always ask to staff to assist you.
The information about the stations linked unfortunately is only available in Japanese but I think you can get an idea about how the stations work with the images/pictures on the websites.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thank you for taking the time to research this for me. I really appreciate it.
