Hi, My son is in military stationed in Japan. What type of ticket does he need to travel with me using a JR Rail Pass? We are going from FUK to Kyoto to Toyko. I will go from Tokyo to Haneda. He will go from Tokyo back to FUK. This is within 7 days. We plan on getting reserved seats. For April 15-22.
Your help will be appreciated. T
Trip with Son
Hi there,
For anyone that does not have a JR Pass, the simplest option is to buy normal rail tickets, like any local basically.
There are some ways to save on tickets, such as by buying ahead of time, at a discount shop or getting a package. If you have a pass, and your other passenger normal tickets, then reserve your seats at the same time and JR Staff can seat you together.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
