My friend and I will travel to Japan next summer (2015).
I would like to ask for any advice to use the JR pass or should I buy a Kansai pass and just by an ordinary ticket to travel from Tokyo to Osaka?
Is our itinerary is good?
Our trip will be:
Tokyo-Kamamura- Tokyo- Osaka- Kobe- Osaka- Kyoto- Nara- Kawaguchiko- Tokyo
If you have other suggestion for the trip, please feel free to post it.
Thank you
Using JR
Hi there,
Although I don't know your exact scudule, I do think that the 7 day JR Pass would be a great option for your itinerary! The 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Osaka on the Shinkansen and any additional travel you cover with is, basically is what you save.
As for visiting Kawaguchiko, I would not do so directly from Nara, as the travel time is just too long with a good amount of transfers. Instead I would visit Kawaguchiko as a day trip from Tokyo!
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thank you for your kind opinion Daniel- san!!
