Hi there, my friends and I are planning a Japan trip with the following itinerary:

21-25th February in Tokyo
25-27th February in Nagano (we're planning on going through Naraijuku, up to Togakushi Shrine)
27th-29th February in Tokyo (my friend) I'll be staying in Tokyo until March 3rd

My initial instinct is that I don't think JR pass is worth it cause we're not going as far as Osaka/Kyoto or the likes. But should I get any Tokyo-specific pass maybe? Or would I be better off just getting a Suica pass and topping it up as I go?

Thanks for the help!

Hi there,

I don't think it's worth purchasing any pass, you're better off purchasing your rail tickets individually. However some kind of IC Card will definitely be of benefit to you. More info on IC Cards can be found here.

Hope this helps!
