Hello, my itinerary is as follows:
12/11/12:Arrive at Narita.Need to get to Shinjuku, Tokyo.
16/11 Travel fr Tokyo to Osaka. Stay in Osaka until 19/11
19/11: Osaka to Kyoto.
22/11:Kyoto to Hiroshima
23/11: Hiroshima to Shinjuku, Tokyo
27/11: Shinjuku, Tokyo to Narita Airport.

I would like to but the Jr pass that is valid for 14 days costing about $544, and activate it perhaps on 14/11, but I am worried that it would cost me more than the difference of the 14 day and the 21 day passes (being about $152) in case I am forced to activate it early to get from Narita airport to shinjuku, or if I were to travel within tokyo to get to say Studio Ghibli. Is there a 2 day card that is cheaper than $152 that will allow me to travel from Narita airport to Shinjuku and around Tokyo locally?

Also, how much do I have to pay for fedex to deliver the tickets to me within Australia?

Hi there,

Looking at your travel have you thought about moving your return to Tokyo back by 1 day to the 22nd and using a 7 day pass?

If you do that you could use the following combo:

  • [Narita Express + Suica prepaid travel card deal]) for discount travel around Tokyo
  • 7 day Japan Rail Pass for travel outside Tokyo.

This option does depend on your plans being flexible, but does result in great savings. Alternatively, if you think you'll do more travel than you have listed, a 14 day pass + the Narita Express + Suica card deal above will give you good coverage for your trip and will mean you won't have to purchase the 21 day pass.

Our delivery in Australia is currently approx $17AUD.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mari,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Unfortunately we can't shuffle it back by a day as we have locked into the accomodations.

How do I go about purchasing the Narita express and Suica prepaid travel card deal??How mcyh are they? would I be able to buy it together w the JR pass and get it delivered at the same time?

Regards,
SYY

Hi there,

The Narita Express + Suica package is only available for purchase at Narita airport and cost between [¥3,500 and ¥5,500] for single or return ticket types. You can purchase the package at the JR ticket offices, or at the JR-East service centers. [Here are some maps explaining where you can find the service centers]for purchasing the ticket.

Hope this helps!
