17 days in Japan

Hi.
We are 4 adults travelling from 24th Nov- 11th Dec 2017.
we are going to buy a 14 day JR pass. Our planned itinerary is as follows
Day 1-4 Tokyo
Day 5-11 Kyoto
Day 12-13 Osaka
Day 14 Hakone
Day 15 -17 Tokyo
we were going to activate our pass when we leave Tokyo and do day trips from Kyoto and Osaka. does this look ok?
Would it be worth buying any other passes to get around?

Hi Elise,

Your trip looks good but I would recommend doing a check here to see if you can make savings with the JR Pass. This would also depend on what day trips you and.

Right now it looks like travel cost is minimal and you may not be able to make savings compared to purchasing normal tickets. This could quickly change with an added day trip say to Himeji or Hiroshima using the Shinkansen.
