Hello there!

We are planning to stay first 4 nights in Tokyo and then 4 nights in Kyoto with day trips to Nara, Kamakura and mt Fuji.

should we get the 7 day pass or the 14? it seems that the ride from the Narita airport to Tokyo doesnt cost much...

thanks so much!

Hi there!

I think if that is the general extent of your travel you should aim for a 7 day Japan Rail Pass augmented with a [Narita Express+Suica deal] (single or return depending on when you activate your rail pass).

The NEX+Suica will save you money while you are in Tokyo and the Rail Pass will cover all trips down to Kyoto and back while giving you a 7 day period of travel flexibility for things like day trips to Hiroshima or Nikko for example.

Hope this helps!
