Hi all!
...and hi Daniel San (I've been checking out the forum a bit before registered and saw you always responded to people here).

Planning to go to Japan June 24 to July 2, my husband and I will travel with our kids, 11 and 6 year olds, and have decided that JR pass is reasonable for us to use since we're going to several cities.

This is our itinerary plan, and since it's not yet fixed, feel free to share inputs of places we can reach with our JR pass:

Day 1 : Arrival Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo sight seeing
Day 3: Disneyland (activate JR pass)
Day 4: Osaka (will it be enough time to go to Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi?)
Day 5: Universal Studio
Day 6: Kyoto - Kobe (is there anywhere else we can go? or these 2 have taken the whole day?)
Day 7: Back to Tokyo
Day 8: Tokyo sight seeing
Day 9: Departure Tokyo (using JR pass to the airport).

Please share your thoughts and inputs, appreciate it.

Best regards,
Day

Hi Day,

Your plan makes good sense and using a 7 day JR Pass make sense from Day 3 to Day 9.

In Osaka, 1 day is plenty to see Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi. You would even have enough time to visit the Osaka Aquarium. I think your kids might like it a lot.

On Day 6. It depends what you want to see do in Kyoto/Kobe but if you have the time, then a visit to Himeji is really nice. The castle is one of the most beautiful in japan.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel San thanks for your input! I've decided to add one more day in Osaka, planning to go to Hiroshima on day 7, is it going to be a one full day trip? which one is better to spend one day for a Hiroshima trip or Osaka sight seeing (with the amazing day pass?)

Thanks
Day

Oh and this is the revised itinerary - please share your thoughts:
24 - Arrival Tokyo late afternoon - rest.
25 - Tokyo sight seeing (Tsukiji in the morning, Pokemon mega center, and maybe to Harajuku, Ometesando)
26 - Mount Fuji (via Hakone) - activate JR pass
27 - Disneyland or Disneysea - which one is better?
28 - Osaka with Shinkansen (Osaka Aquarium, Dotonburi, Shinsaibashi)
29 - Universal Studio
30 - Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji Castle
1 - Please help: Hiroshima and Miyajima OR Osaka amazing day trip?
2 - Back to Tokyo - planning to go to Odaiba, Ghibli Museum - will it be enough time? either one of them plus Asakusa, Akihabara - what do you think?
3 - Morning - noon stroll around Shibuya, Shinjuku - afternoon to the airport (flight back home in the evening).

Thanks Daniel,
Day

I'll activate my JR pass on June 26 (Day 3) to July 2 (Day 9) - will buy NEX roundtrip tickets for June 24 (Arrival) and July 3 (Departure) - what do you think?
