Hi there

Could you please advise if it is worth getting a JR pass for our trip (or for part of it)

Our itinerary is:

Day 1 Narita to Tokyo (1 night)

Day 2 Tokyo to Nakatsugawa (2 nights)

Day 4 Nakatsugawa to Matsumoto (3 nights)

Day 7 Matsumoto to Kyoto (3 nights)

Day 10 Kyoto to Tokyo (2 nights)

Day 12 Tokyo to Narita

Thanks very much
Donna

Hi there,

Because you’ll be spending longer periods of time in each city, it’s likely that you won’t benefit financially from purchasing a JR Pass. If you are considering the JR Pass for organisational reasons as well, it is, of course, still an option as all of your itinerary is covered.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
