Hi there,

You are planning a really nice trip to Hokkaido.

The best use of the JR East-South Hokkaido Pass is on the longer trips, this certainly includes travel from Tokyo - Hakodate, from Hakodate - Niseko, Sapporo to Toya and Nobori betsu, Travel back to Tokyo. This would be 4 of the 6 days. You can use the remaining two days as you see fit, I would use one day for travel to Kutchan and Otaru and one day elsewhere.

You can use our JR Fare calculator to get a sense of ticket prices involved:

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you for your reply.

As i was reviewing, it is a bit late for cherry blossom in tokyo. Perhaps i would stop by Sendai for 1 day on April 14. It will be another city visited. Is it safe to assume cherry blossom will be blooming on this date. It was full bloom in 2016? And i assume that my pass will include all JR lines in Sendai.

It all depends on the weather, sometimes Cherry blossom starts Mid march and sometimes near the end of April. There are several websites that track the Cherry Blossom front. My advice would be to plan flexible when you want to experience the best cherry blossom. A JR Pass is great here as you can take any train anywhere :)
