Hi,
Me and 2 friends are travelling in Japan April/May for the first time and I was just wondering whats best to get in terms of travel.

Our itinerary breakdown is:

Sat 28th - Arrival at Haneda airport - travel to Kyoto
Wednesday 2nd May- Day trip to Nara - return to kyoto
Thursday 3rd May - Osaka
Friday 4th May - Universal studios (does the JR pass cover this?)
Monday 7th May - Tokyo
(We may do a day trip to Hakone or to the Ashikaga flower park) - is this covered by the JR pass too? Saturday 12th ~May - Narita Airport

Is it worth getting a 2 week JR pass for each of us?
Also will we still need to get a Suica/Pasmo card for inter-city travel on the metro lines in kyoto/Osaka and Tokyo?

Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you

Hi there,

Your travel is mostly based locally in two area's both Kansai area (Kyoto/Osaka) and the Kanto are (Tokyo). You have one Shinkansen trip between them. As such, you would not make savings with the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
