Will Japan Rail Pass cover travel by trail for this itinerary? Is it cheaper to buy individual tickets for this 12 day trip or to buy the pass?

The JR Pass, will cover most of this Itinerary: If your trip is around 7/8 days, I would suggest purchasing a JR Pass along with either a Hakone FreePass, or individual tickets to Hakone from Odawara Station.
