Hi, we are 2 seniors travelling to JP from 5 to 15 March. Our itinerary: Arrive Osaka (Kansai airport)>Osaka (1 nite)>Kyoto (3 nites)>Mt Fuji (hotel at Gotemba)>Tokyo (1nite)>depart Narita airport. We booked hotel near train stations. Please advise whether we should buy JR Pass or individual trip tickets.

Question 2: Each of us carry a medium size luggage, are the stations luggage friendly?

Hi there,

Unless you choose to make day trips out of Kyoto, you'll be better off purchasing your tickets individually. If your itinerary does change, you can always check out our JR Fare Calculator to compare prices.

And yes, stations are luggage friendly but you'll need to reserve space for your luggage at ticket machines or JR Travel offices. A full guide on the new JR luggage regulations can be found here.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
