I will be travelling from as follows:
Kansai airport to Osaka(14 Dec)
Osaka to Nara and back(15 Dec)
Osaka to Kyoto(18 Dec)
Kyoto to Kobe and back(20 Dec)
Kyoto to Kansai airport(21 Dec)
Do I need a 7 days JR Pass? Does the pass cover bus/train to tourist area in the above places?

All your travel is within the Kansai Area, and with that in mind you could look at using a Kansai Area Pass. This is a much lower cost tickets and covers travel between all the cities you plan to travel.
