We are travelling the following stops in Dec/Jan:
Tokyo – Nagano – Hakuba
Hakuba – Nagano – Tokyo – Kyoto
Kyoto – Hiroshima
Hiroshima – Tokyo

Is this all covered by Japan pass and should we prepurchase tickets.

Hi there,

The JR Pass covers travel to all these places :)

Seat reservations are recommended but it is fine if you reserve them a day or so in advance. Only during the busy new year period would I advise a bit longer 2-4 days.

You can make reservations at any ticket window on any JR station.
