Hi
This trip we are not venturing very far so would appreciate advice on any rail pass we should buy or is it better to pay each trip as we move around? Does JR cover any of these trips we are making?

Itinerary

Haneda to Yokohama 3 nights
Yokohama to Hakone 3 nights
Hakone to Tokyo Central 4 nights
Tokyo to Narita

Thank you, your help has been invaluable on previous trips.

Hi there,

The JR Pass works best when you do go a bit further afield. Think of cities like Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and beyond.

With travel mostly in the Kanto area, I would suggest just sticking with buying normal tickets. Or use smartcard like Suica for easy travel. The JR Pass does cover travel between all the places you want to visit but it simply would not be enough travel to be cost saving.

Kind regards,
Daniel
