What's the best way to get from Nagoya to Tarui? use the Tokaido Mainline or the Tokaido Shinkansen? I did see a train stop near Tarui using the Shinkansen.

Hi there,
The easiest way is to use the Tokaido Main Line, as it'll involve no transfers and will still be a relatively short trip of about 50 minutes.
