Hi there,

I am traveling with my family through Japan next week and am wondering about what would be the best passes for us to get.

4/23 Arrive at Haneda Tokyo airport. Explore Tokyo Shinbuyu, Harajuku and Ginza areas in Tokyo through 4/25.

4/25 Take (seasonal) bus to Fuji shibazakura festival. Travel from festival to Hakone.

4/26 Take bullet train from Hakone to Kyoto. Explore Kyoto.

4/27 Travel from Kyoto to Osaka. Explore Osaka.

4/28 Day trip from Osaka to Himeji and back.

4/29 Day trip to Nara and back.

4/30 Train to Kansai airport from Osaka.

Hello there,

I think the best option here would be to buy normal tickets for your trip up to Kyoto and then look at using a JR West Kansai area Pass for travel to Osaka and Himeji. You don't have enough travel cost to make savings with a JR Pass but using a local pass like the Kansai area pass can help you make savings.

You can find the details here:

Hope this helps,
Daniel
