I am sending my son to the summer camp in Hakuba so I need to travel back and forth from Tokyo/Shinjuku. I wonder
(1) if the JR East Pass (Nagano Niigata Area) covers the above mentioned route? (2) if the pass cover the reserve seat fee or I have to pay separately

Looking to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Hi there,

Yes, the pass covers travel between the Nagano area to Tokyo/Shinjuku Station. As far as I know the pass will not require you to make any add-on purchases when making reservations.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
