I be traveling to Tokyo next month for about 10 days.
Will stay in Tokyo most of the time but I plan to include a day trip with the Fuji Excursion and 3D2N to Takayama.
Is the JR Pass include both places? Or should I add on the Tokyo Wide Pass?

Hi there,
A JR Pass might be interesting for going to Takayama and back, especially if you can use the JR Pass for some additional travel as well, like local JR lines around Tokyo or maybe a day trip somewhere.
The JR Pass only covers the Fuji Excursion train up to Otsuki station, from there an additional fare is needed, to Fuji, which is around 1.500yen/one way.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thank you Daniel.
May I know what if I want to visiting the Tokyo nearby town like Kamukara, Hakone, Nikko, Yokohama, Kawagoe? Do I need to purchase JR pass to visit those places?
The JR Pass will cover all these trips.
For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Thanks. But is it possible to use the Wide Pass instead of the JR pass for all towns listed above?
