Hi we have a limited itinerary
Osaka 4 days (travelling within osaka area including universal studios and maybe half day to Nara) -> osaka to Kyoto where we will be 2 days (travelling within Kyoto) -> kyoto to Tokyo (we will buy a separate shinkansen ticket for this)
IS it worth getting a Kansai area pass (also incorporating teh convenience of not having to buy a ticket each time we use a local train)

A Kansai Area Pass will likely come out to a similar price as purchasing your tickets individually, and so the choice is yours - if you prioritise convenience it sounds like a good option.
